Timberframe kitchen, dining, living areas. Conventional stick framing for the rest of the house. These "hybrid" frames are becoming more common.
A white pine frame that was then stained darker. A favorite element included the open joist system over the kitchen and the small knees in the hall. The mason did some beautiful stonework on the front wall and formal front entry.
